The story of TravelLustig started with a simple idea.
After every trip, I ended up with hundreds of photos, maps, restaurant recommendations and little notes scattered across my computer. I wanted one place where I could keep all those memories together—not just for myself, but for anyone looking for inspiration for their next adventure.
So I built TravelLustig.
Every destination on this website is based on places I’ve personally visited. Instead of copying information from travel guides, I share my own itineraries, photographs, favourite viewpoints, local dishes and honest recommendations.
If one of my trips helps you discover a beautiful place, find a great restaurant or plan your own journey a little easier, then TravelLustig has done exactly what it was created for.
Did you know how TravelLustig got its name?
Take Travel, add a little travellust, throw in some German Lustig and you get… TravelLustig.
Travellust describes that strong desire to travel, explore and discover what is around the next corner. Lustig, on the other hand, is a German word meaning fun or cheerful. I added the German-sounding -ig to travellust to create something of my own — a name that combines the love of travelling with the fun of experiencing it.
Because for me, travelling isn’t just about seeing new places. It’s about enjoying the journey, discovering something unexpected, trying something local, getting a little lost and having a good time along the way.

Every adventure needs a travel companion.
Lusti is the little airplane behind the TravelLustig logo and the mascot of this website. He represents curiosity, adventure and the excitement of discovering somewhere new.
You’ll find Lusti flying around the website, sharing travel tips and occasionally helping you find your way. Think of him as your co-pilot on every journey.

Hi, I’m Patrik.
I’m just an ordinary guy from Slovenia who enjoys exploring new places, tasting local food and turning every trip into a collection of memories. I love scenic viewpoints, hidden gems and discovering places that don’t always appear on the first page of Google.
When I’m not travelling, you’ll usually find me behind a camera, flying a drone, planning my next itinerary or adding another euro coin to my collection.
